In his paintings, Yisa explores and uncovers the possibilities of his
creative expression, combining various art expertise and endeavors to
express a full range of experiences in one piece. Yisa's Yoruba, African
root experience and Western education dominate the eclecticism of his
technique. Yisa was featured on the cover of Art Business News, NY, in
November 2011 for his distinctive painting technique. He is the founder
and past president of the Creative Foundation Inc. He is also past
president of the Manitoba Society of Artists. Yisa is a change agent who
believes that humanity's best future lies in the hands of today's children.
Yisa is also the nnovator of Remoglu/e.
Though paint may be Yisa Akinbolaji's first material of choice, "I do not
just paint; I create using paint," says the artist. Like his own worldwide
romp—which has taken him from his native Nigeria, where he was
featured in Nigerian Artists: A Who's Who and Bibliography, to the
University of North Dakota, where he earned his MFA, to his current
home in Winnipeg, Canada, where he is full-time artist—Akinbolaji
sees art as one connected journey. "My art technique emphasizes the
character of my visual narratives, my journey, my expereience and
