Though paint may be Yisa Akinbolaji's first material of choice, "I do not
just paint; I create using paint," says the artist. Like his own worldwide
romp—which has taken him from his native Nigeria, where he was
featured in Nigerian Artists: A Who's Who and Bibliography, to the
University of North Dakota, where he earned his MFA, to his current
home in Winnipeg, Canada, where he is full-time artist—Akinbolaji
sees art as one connected journey. "My art technique emphasizes the
character of my visual narratives, my journey, my expereience and
my imagination in a personal and unique way." he says.
